It's very easy to look at the world around us and assume that it's always going to provide us with what we need. After all, it's done it so far, right? We haven't run out of anything yet. Mother Nature was meant to be self-sufficient, we don't really have to worry about that.

It is definitely true that Mother Nature was designed to be self sustaining. If Mother N. were left to her own devices all would be well and we wouldn't have any environmental or ecological problems to deal with. Natural predatory systems would take care of themselves and flora and fauna would thrive and succeed. The planet Earth would teem with precious natural resources and all would be well.

Mother Nature didn't foresee that human beings would interfere in her plan and screw everything up. She didn't know how fast and furiously we would consume natural resources without replenishing them. She didn't foresee that our population would grow exponentially to the point where we are running out of everything on our precious planet in a big hurry.

With the evolution of the earth's natural rhythms our earth did not foresee that human beings would chime in and upset her timing mechanisms.

The Need for Biofuel

It takes the earth many, many years to replace the natural resources used in the production of the petroleum. It takes considerably less to grow and convert natural oils, which can, and have, effectively replaced the old system of fuel in certain testing situations. Actually, this process is common throughout certain parts of Europe.

Conventional biofuels are made from sugar, starch and vegetable oils, just like the stuff you use in your kitchen. In fact, there are currently programs underway geared toward transforming restaurant waste into biofuel. Yes, that is how easy it is to find the resources we need for a more sustainable energy solution.

The Advantages of Biofuel

"We should increase our development of alternative fuels, taking advantage of renewable resources, like using corn and sugar to produce ethanol or soybeans to produce biodiesel." -Bobby Jindal

We are in serious competition with many other countries right now for the natural resources required to make conventional fuels. This fierce competition drives up prices and limits the supply of the product and serves in rendering it a non-sustainable form of energy.

Raw materials necessary for biofuel can be grown domestically and not need to be imported. This results in a durable supply of a more sustainable system than we can count on at this moment. Biofuel is clean and drastically reduces the damage done to our air by our modern transportation systems. Production is also cheaper than using fossil fuels as an energy base.

The Question is then why doesn't Biofuel Rule?

There are so many benefits to biofuel why hasn't it caught on in the transportation market? Many of the reasons involve the way we manufacture automobiles. Biofuel techniques have not been proven and remain in the testing stage.

So, while the question of biofuel ruling the world of sustainable energy remains in the future, it is a near future. When that future is finally upon us, the planet, its people and Mother Nature will all benefit.
