There appears to be virtually no ceiling to how high fuel prices might rise in today's world. In response, countless leaps and improvements have been made in the development of complementary forms of electricity, whether it is to power a vehicle, a home, or even an entire city. Even though solar energy has turned out to be promising, along with wind power energy and even water energy, a new form of energy may become the answer to the energy crisis. It isn't a new invention, or even a new discovery, and yet is something humans have used for many millennia.
Radiant energy encompasses us and has been eternally. It is the energy of electro-magnetic waves and we use this energy every single day of our lives with out realizing it. Types of radiant energy abound.
One good example is a fire. If you place your hands too near the flame you will get burned, and yet you don't directly touch the flames. It is because the flames emit two kinds of radiant energy, heat and also light. The larger the fire, the more robust the radiant energy, as well as the hotter and brighter the fire looks.
Another great instance of this is the light bulb. When a strong electrical current is sent through the light, radiant energy bursts from the filament in the forms of illumination and also heat. Today's bulbs are getting good at emitting significantly less heat and therefore the ability to concentrate that radiant energy more toward light, giving us all a more efficient lamp.
More than a century ago, Nicolas Tesla, the man who invented alternating current, came up with an ingenious idea to use this concept of radiant energy to create what he called a radiant energy generator. His idea was to take the sun, our single greatest source of radiant energy, and use its heat and light to create a generator capable of creating an electric current without using fuel.
His idea was to construct a massive electrical circuit that would reach from the ground to space. He theorized that, since the Earth was much warmer than space, heat from the Earth would flow through the wire and bring electrons along with it. According to his theory, as long as the circuit was connected an electric current could be created through the use of heat, not fuel.
Unfortunately, the technological innovation of his time restricted him. Tesla was alive long before man has been capable of reaching the moon, and his idea gathered little ground. These days, however, such a principle is certainly possible and, if explored and perfected, could prove a great resource of electrical energy around the world and virtually eradicate our dependency on classic fuels.
