The residents of Sydney Australia rely on an accurate weather forecast. When the weather in Sydney is accurately predicted, the citizens can determine if they should plan on spending the day inside, or if it is a perfect day for outdoor activities. When the weather prediction is wrong everyone's day is ruined.

In the past it was possible to let the city of Sydney know all about the weather without any formal training. This was what the a weather person did, they were a person who looked good on screen and read the weather. What many people failed to realize is that theses people were not actually predicting the weather. The weather reports were actually being made by a meteorologist who spent a great deal of time getting an education in the subject of meteorology.

Becoming a meteorologist requires a great deal of work. The last thing that anyone wants to have happen is spend a few years studying the subject only to find out that they hate it. The best way to make sure that a person is not about to make a huge mistake is by learning as much about the subject as they possibly can. The best place to get a seemingly endless supply of information is the Australian Bureau of Meteorology

The broadcasting of weather is the responsibility of the Bureau of Meteorology In addition to forecasting the weather in Sydney, the Bureau also forecasts the weather for the entire country as well. The Bureau forecasts the weather and than sends their findings to the local and national news channels.

The Bureau of Meteorology falls under the jurisdiction of the Australian government. The government first established the organization during 1906. It was another two years before the Bureau was finally ready to start making forecasts. Today the Bureau does more than just study the weather patterns, they provide the Australian news stations with Radiofax.

Anyone who is even remotely interested in the weather and becoming a meteorologist will find that the Bureau of Meteorology's website is a treasure trove of information. Not only does t have a library of valuable information, but they also have job listing section that will help the person determine what the average meteorologist will make every year.

The weather is not the only thing that the Bureau does. Anyone who is planning on going out on a boat will find that they can get all sorts of information from the Bureau, information that can help the boater decide if the water is going to be safe, or if they should plan on spending the day on land. The Bureau is an excellent place to find out the forecast for seasonal water flow, determine if there is a Tsunami warning, risks of flooding, and tides.

Predicting the weather in Sydney is a very important job, it can also be a stressful job. When the weather is accurate (and sunny) everyone is happy. However, when a person's forecast is wrong (or if it has been raining for several days) no one is happy with the meteorologist making the predictions.
