We are in a time where in we experience rapid changes in our environment. Hurricanes and storms are everywhere destroying and killing thousands of people and leaving others homeless. Information and strategies had been released to protect and help us understand how to deal with these conditions. Temperature changes and climate changes affects us more than we already know.

We often hear experts mention the phrase global warming without fully explaining what it is. We take this for granted since we do not feel any difference to the weather that we had yesterday and today. It is true that we can barely feel the difference but a small increase in the temperature has a great impact on our weather. We experience extreme conditions like heavy and severe flooding and this is what gets our attention, the product of global warming.

No parts in the world have the same atmospheric condition. Weather changes rapidly and all of this can be accounted to what seems to be an alarming situation for the many scientist or those people who specializes in studying this area. Since it does not only affect our surrounding but also us, it is vital that we should know what are the possible problems that we could be facing in the future and what we can do to solve it.

The floods and storms bring about destruction to almost any place that it will pass by. This is most evident during the Hurricane Katrina and the floods that many countries in Southeast Asia experience. Many lives had been destroyed and houses had been brought down to the ground. Many people were taken by surprise and were not able to prepare for what was to come. It is good to know though that we have learned and made great improvements to prevent these kinds of things from happening again. Installation of shutters and preparing emergency kits have been the rage and it sure did prove its worth time and again.

The increase and fall in the temperature affects almost everybody but most especially those who belong to extreme age group, meaning the young ones and the old. Sweating when it is hot is our body's way of coping with the changes it feels. When we sweat we lose good amount of fluids in our body and when that lost become significant and cannot be replaced right away it could lead to dehydration. Dehydration will cause collapse in the veins that are essential for fluid replacement especially for infants and young children. Cold temperature on the other hand can disrupt the circulation of our body. For the elderly this disruption can result to failure of other systems. Low temperature can also trigger rheumatism and flu which is one of the leading causes of death for the aged.

Exposure to the ultraviolet rays or UV rays of the sun can increase the possibility of acquiring skin cancer. Though you might be confident that you will not get this kind of disease there is always the possibility of getting sun burns. Even just a one day exposure to the sun can cause this. Sun block lotions had been developed to prevent this from happening and we should not take this for granted.
