This lowers the amount of renewable materials taken from nature and slows the rate at which they're being collected. This gives sustainable materials a chance to regenerate naturally. Some common materials in eco-friendly products are recycled rubber, wood, or plastic.

Eco-friendly toys are closely regulated during production. Environmentally safe toy companies minimize pollution and regulate everything from energy use to production processes. More focus on manufacturing benefits the customer as well. Because each step of environmentally safe toy production is regulated, you can be sure the toys you are buying are well made and durable.

Environmentally safe toys are better all around for the earth but have some huge benefits for you, the consumer, as well. There is a much lower risk an eco-friendly toy will be recalled because both the inputs and the manufacturing processes are closely regulated. Unsafe materials have entered the toy market again and again. Kids have been exposed to toys with formaldehyde, lead, and PVC, all of which have been proven unsafe. With safe and natural materials, you don't have to risk your child's safety when it comes to the toys they play with.

Unregulated and under-regulated manufacturing is another way that toys can pose a threat to your little ones. Poorly constructed toys threaten the safety of your kids by being prone to breaking. "Green" toys are regulated at every stage of production. Everything from getting the components of the toy to manufacturing is closely managed so you know the toys you buy will be durable and long-lasting.
