Great harm is done to the planet by man-made chemicals, and they are a major cause of climate change. We do need these chemicals on a day by day basis, as they help us to operate essential equipment and make our lives easier, but they present a significant threat. Major governments have introduced regulations limiting the use of these substances, as they present a threat to the ozone layer and contribute to global warming.
Refrigerant gas is a major cause of climate change. As this gas is used to run air-conditioning systems, run commercial refrigeration units and HVAC systems, it represents a very common emission. The gas is composed of hydrochlorofluorocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons, which contribute to global warming. The United States and many foreign countries insist that its usage is phased out, with a target date for completion of 2015.
Fossil fuels lead to an increase in greenhouse gases and are a significant cause of climate change. Oil, natural gas and coal are used to operate machinery, generate electricity and run vehicles and all emit high levels of carbon dioxide. These fossil fuels also emit other substances, including methane, nitrous oxide, nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide, all of which impact air quality and contribute to warming.
Scientists have found that methane is a significant cause of climate change. This greenhouse gas is discharged by cows, pigs, horses, sheep and other domesticated animals. Methane gas is also discharged from garbage in landfills, fertilizers, oil drilling and coal mining. In addition, when a gas leak occurs, a high volume of the dangerous chemical is discharged at one time.
There are many harmful gases found in the day-to-day equipment that we are so used to, substances which are a root cause of climate change. We do not have to look far for these gases, as they are common in commercial refrigerators,air conditioners, HVAC systems, freezers etc. Targeted gases include fluorine, chlorine, bromine, atomic chlorine, nitric oxide, hydrochlorofluorocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons.
A number of processes and daily household items are being studied to identify measures that would limit their impact on global warming. Aerosols are under study as well as animal agriculture, deforestation, cement manufacturing and land usage -- all considered to be a primary cause of climate change.
There are many common pollutants in our daily society that are a cause of climate change. These include carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, black carbon and methane and their use has caused the earth's protective layer to become damaged. Scientists predict that without change, global warming will destroy the planet.
Simply put, too much heat stored in the atmosphere is the cause of climate change. The amount of greenhouse gases in the air contributes to atmospheric heat. Overwhelming heat can create significant changes in the earths climate, affecting both land and ocean. As a result, human, animal, plant and marine life will be severely impacted.
