You hear so much about "Going Green" these days, but that raises at least a couple questions in my mind. First, what exactly does this mean? How do you go green? Why go green?

In a nutshell, going green means doing our parts in keeping the planet clean. There are those people I call "green freaks" who are in everybody's face and a stickler for it. These people are so annoying and quite frankly, make me want to be the opposite of green, whatever that might be.

People often debate on what are the best things to do in keeping our planet clean. It doesn't make sense to me to think of recycling aluminum could help keep the environment good and clean.

I definitely get the idea of going green to save money, whether it's saving money by not running water or having an alternative to plastic or aluminum. I'm all for saving money, and I will do these things if it helps me do so, however, I don't really see how it helps clean the planet.

Those green freaks I mentioned a little bit ago refuse to take taxis, jets and other types of vehicles because they supposedly pollute the air. I don't get this at all. These vehicles will be used regardless of whether or not I'm on board. Why not take advantage if it means getting to places faster and more conveniently while being more productive and saving money? Who would turn that down?

With all that being said, it makes sense to do things that are considered going green, but if the motive is to fight global warming or climate change, I look at it as a waste of time, money and energy. I can't even begin to convince myself for a split second that by taking cab or jet across the country, that I'm making the planet hotter or cooler. There's no logic.

Since all that's out of the way, I want to attempt to answer the questions from the beginning of this post. Question: Exactly what does it mean to go green? Answer: Doing our part to keep the environment clean and to fight global warming, or something like that.

Question: How exactly do you go green? There are so many suggested ways, and I can't even scratch the surface. You can use less gas, less energy, recycle and do a Google search.

Question: Why go green? Answer: I believe a great reason for going green is to save money. If you're within a walking distance of work or school, walk or ride a bike. This will help save money on gas and others will argue it helps the environment.
