Going back only a little while, energy and sustainability were a question of availability of energy and the amount which was employed. Today however with the industrial growth rate affecting the environment there are many other considerations which are of equal importance.
What needs to be considered is waste produced by major manufacturing units and industries. Wastewater entering our stormwater network which then enters our waterways represents just one of these concerns. Water can be treated with a system like an oil water separatorhowever more should be done to guard our environment and above all develop safe energy alternatives.
Apart from increasing the availability of energy especially for the future, safety factors also need to be considered. Before we think about more expansion we have to consider the effects of using energy and it's result on global temperature increases.
The greenhouse effect has been boosted and we as responsible citizens have to think about the welfare of the world and about how we employ energy needs on a basis which is viable. For many this is no longer a parable and is accepted as fact.
Some things are bound to change like the expansion of population. This obviously means a higher duty for energy and power. In urbanized areas there will be continual power requirements and this could be much the same for industrial areas too. Therefore the power supply will not only need to be reliable but will also need to be qualitative.
The question ensues as to where this power will be supplied from and how electricity will be generated. Some energy sources supply are wind energy and solar electricity. This is a constant source. Harnessing power from solar energy and the wind does not exhaust the earth of any resources. At the same time it doesn't spoil the water or the air. Daylight and wind aren't constant, so this energy will have to be conserved and stored when it is at the pinnacle so that we can have a nonstop supply of electricity.
Nevertheless for an ecologically friendly power supply at a cost effective there must be leading edge technology developed. The next thing to be tapped into is nuclear energy so that we can have more dependable sources of power generation for our world to survive and sustain itself. However Nuclear energy understandably concerns many as it does have the potential to be a significant health risk if there is an issue.

One thing industries can do now is treat their wastewater before letting it enter the stormwater network. A device such as an oil water separator can extract contaminants from water and help avoid more contamination of our waterways. To get more info on Oil Water Separators click here.
